Donkey Creek/Boxelder Road Design
Campbell County, Wyoming
WWC was commissioned to design the reconstruction of Highway 59 and Boxelder Road that were experiencing extreme congestive traffic flow. Project design ADT is greater than 30,000 vpd. The project included design of the roadway with a geometry that is capable of handling the projected traffic flows while improving safety and maintaining access to local businesses. WWC also incorporated utility upgrades and aesthetic enhancements requested by the City of Gillette.

West Antelope Flood Control
Converse County, Wyoming
Antelope Mine retained WWC to design flood protection for downstream mining activities within the Spring Creek channel. The flood control project includes the design of a 28-foot tall dam with 70 acre-feet of capacity and an automated early warning flood protection system, a 1.67-mile diversion of Spring Creek, a 0.87-mile diversion of Gnarly Draw, a 42-foot tall step drop structure with a discharge capacity of 4,200 cfs, and a sub-surface HDPE pipeline for flood storage evacuation.

Clear Creek Bridge Replacement Project
Sheridan, County
In 2008 WWC Engineering was retained by Sheridan County to evaluate alternatives for the replacement and upgrade of a 92 year old bridge that was structurally deficient. The existing bridge and abutments were in poor condition and in need of replacement. Construction of the bridge began in August of 2009 and is expected to be completed in December 2009. Work on this project has included site surveying and site assessments; preliminary and final foundation, abutment, detour and roadway design; relocation of existing storm sewer; hydrology and hydraulics evaluations; historical assessment and permitting through Wyoming State Historical Preservation Office; wetlands delineation & U.S. Army Corp of Engineers 404 permitting; preparation of bid documents, technical specifications, general and special conditions, bid schedule and cost estimates; and bid management. Work also included the removal of the old bridge in one piece and installation of the new bridge.
